Korean BBQ (Bulgogi)

I made this last night and it was so flavorful that I have to put it on here so next time I'm craving Korean beef, I will have this recipe!  I didn't start this early enough so I only marinated mine for about 4 hours but next time I'll probably try to do it for longer.  It was super flavorful even with just 4 hours though.  It wasn't spicy at all to me (I might like a little more kick but it was still good) and all the kids liked it too.  Be sure to cook the meat in batches so they can caramelize and won't just steam itself.  I used my cast iron pan and it worked really well.  There's a video at the source link I give below that shows how to make it if you want a visual.  Really yummy!  We ate it with rice and steamed broccoli.  It would be good with any kind of stir fry veggies.

BULGOGI
(found on the Studio 5 website)

Ingredients:

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup dark soy sauce
1/2 can pear halves, mashed
1lb sirloin (use your favorite cut of steak) thinly sliced (I used stir fry beef already sliced thin)
2 tbsp minced ginger
3 tbsp minced garlic
3 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp Siriacha hot sauce
1/3 cup chopped cilantro
Garnish with sliced green onions & sesame seeds

Method:

Combine the sugar, soy sauce, mashed pears, onion, ginger, garlic, Sriracha, and cilantro in a large zip-close bag.

Add the beef to the bag. Push out any air and zip close. Gently massage the beef with the marinade.

Refrigerate at least 8 hours or overnight.

Saute beef in batches over med-high heat... if you add it to the pan all at once the meat will "sweat" and you don't want that.

Cook until the beef is cooked through and the edges are crispy and deep golden brown.

Sprinkle with green onions & sesame seeds. Delicious served with rice.

Enjoy the deliciousness!!
