Chocolate Chip Cookies (the very best)

What's better than the classic chocolate chip cookie? Not much! This is my favorite recipe for chocolate chip cookies. It's from my mom and so maybe that's why it's my favorite--it reminds me of eating these yummy cookies growing up! My mom was always baking up something delicious and we were so lucky to have homemade treats all the time! These cookies are soft and chewy and don't get hard and crispy as long as you keep them in an airtight container (and don't overbake them). Sooo good. Sooo good. One more time? Sooo gooood.

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
(from my mom)

Ingredients:

1 cup margarine, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 t. vanilla
1 t. baking soda
3 cups flour
1/2 t. salt
1 pkg. chocolate chips (or a little less, depending what you like)
1 cup nuts or coconut or oatmeal (I just use oatmeal)

Mix together first three ingredients. Add eggs and vanilla and mix. Mix together dry ingredients and then add to wet mixture and mix. Stir in chocolate chips and oatmeal. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

This recipe makes quite a few cookies! I like to pull out enough dough for a dozen or so and freeze the rest for a rainy day! (Although it's quite dangerous to keep cookie dough on hand!)
